Jay Jensen believes in fitness of the mind and body. That is why he is dedicated to doing CrossFit.
Fitness has always been an important part of Jay Jensen’s life. His love for getting into shape began when he was young and was focused on wrestling, which he did all through school. Of course, as he got older and wrestling was not as readily available to him, Jensen branched out into other forms of physical activity. After trying many different things from, jogging to weightlifting, he found Crossfit.
For Jay Jensen, Crossfit has become more than a quick workout, it has become a way of life. Crossfit incorporates many different elements from other types of workouts such as aerobics, plyometrics and weight lifting and put them all into one session. For Jay, it has become a necessity for his overall well being. What he likes most about crossfit training is that these workouts have everything incorporate into one, so when he leaves the gym, he knows he has worked out his entire body.
Jay’s favorite place to workout is at a gym called The Body Compound. He is there so often working out, he has become very good friends with the owner. What Jensen likes most about this gym is that they do not have different workouts for every fitness level. They use the same workout routines for young and old and allow the person to adjust themselves to get the best workout for them. The workouts are designed so that you are now competing with yourself, not with the person next to you. For Jay Jensen, this is so healthy and not just for body, but for your mind, body and soul.
Jay feels that by taking the competition inward, you are now looking differently at the people around you. Now, instead of trying to be better than them or do more reps or sets than they do, you are encouraging them to do better and cheering them on as they compete to achieve their own goals.
In the world we live in today, Jensen feels it is better to foster a “we’re all in this together“ attitude than to always be at each other and secretly hoping the other guy does not do as well as you. If we can carry the CrossFit mentality into the work place and into our family lives, the world would be a much better place all around.
Jay Jensen love for Crossfit shows in everything he does, whether it is at work, home, coaching his children in wrestling or going to the gym. For more about Jay’s passion for fitness, follow him on Pinterest.
